Arknights: Endfield's version 1.5 update, subtitled "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow," went live on September 2, 2026, bringing a new story chapter, a returning face from the original Arknights, and a stack of free rewards for players logging in this month.

It's the game's second major content drop since its global launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile on January 22, following a pre-registration campaign that topped 30 million sign-ups. For a title still finding its post-launch rhythm, 1.5 is the clearest signal yet that Hypergryph and publisher Gryphline intend to keep content flowing on a steady cadence rather than easing off after the initial release rush.

What's new in 1.5

The headline addition is Typhoeus, an Operator making the jump over from the mobile tower-defense original, now reworked for Endfield's real-time, party-based combat. The character arrives alongside a new story arc set in the Snowy Forest near Yinglung Pass, a supernatural-tinged detour that expands the game's map with fresh environments and side missions.

Beyond the story content, 1.5 introduces:

  • A new playable chapter built around the Snowy Forest region
  • Typhoeus as a returning, reworked Operator
  • The Echoes of War endgame mode's next seasons — Virtuality launched alongside the patch on September 2, with a second season, Illusion, scheduled for September 24
  • A new high-difficulty Umbral Monument challenge, "Marked by Dark Shadows," penciled in for October 5

Free rewards through late September

Hypergryph is also running a giveaway tied to the update: players who complete a specific event by September 24 can claim the new 5-star Operator Purrchena and the matching 5-star weapon, Dessert Moment, at no cost. It's a familiar live-service play — pairing a paid banner cycle with a free path to a new unit — designed to keep both spenders and free-to-play players engaged through the update window.

For anyone who stepped away after launch, 1.5 is a reasonable point to jump back in: a new region, a returning character with lore weight, and a free-to-earn 5-star are enough to justify a login without requiring players to catch up on months of missed content.

What's next

With Illusion due September 24 and the tougher Umbral Monument fight following in early October, Endfield's roadmap through fall looks incremental rather than seismic — smaller content beats layered on a steady drip rather than one big seasonal reset. That's typical for a game barely eight months removed from launch, still calibrating how much content players can absorb between patches. The bigger test will be whether 1.6 introduces a new region on the scale of the base game's launch zones, or keeps refining what's already here.
